    Even if we could do that to animals, why would we want to? So that we could justify killing them.

    It's inhumane, animals still have feelings. They have emotions, they get scared just like us. Would you try to take that away aswell?

    Yes, but the unintended consequences of that is they wouldn't grow to reach maturity without accidentally self-injuring/dying. Removing pain removes the ability to discriminate between objects or temperature.

    This would cost more money in loss. It's easier and cheaper to make the deaths as non-painful as possible.

    Technically they could though i highly doubt we possess the technology, there would also be huge ethical questions AND a complex organism that cannot feel = comatose.
