What does this mean coming from a guy?

Ok, this guy I met a few months ago. He facebook chats me everyday whenever we're online, flirts with me all the time (and not other girls, but he is shy), makes plans with me every friday, and pays for my meals when we go out (and sometimes seems nervous).. but then sometimes makes jokes about other girls & called me his best friend (so why would he be nervous??)

So, the question is.. why would he flirt so much if he just thought of me as his best friend? Could he just be trying to make me jealous with the other girls? Or are we really just friends?

He called you his best friend because if had gone outright and said you were his crush or his girlfriend he would have a) gotten laughed at by you, if you didn't feel the same way, or b) got himself into a boyfriend situation that he doesn't want to be in yet. Sounds like he likes you, but is testing the water to see if you see HIM as only a friend first.

He definetly thinks of you as more than a friend or he could possibly just be an amazing best friend, but im not sure

eugh, ya know? I just don;t know! Chances are if he's paying for you he wants to be your chippy but I wouldn;t be so sure- talk to him abou it! thats the only ay you can ever really know :)

He really does like you like that. He's just saying that because he's too shy to say straightforward that he likes you without you saying you like him first.
