What do these signs point to?
Ok, this guy I met a few months ago. He facebook chats me everyday whenever we're online, flirts with me all the time (and not other girls, but he is shy), makes plans with me every friday, and pays for my meals when we go out (and sometimes seems nervous).. but then sometimes makes jokes about other girls & called me his best friend (so why would he be nervous??)
So, the question is.. why would he flirt so much if he just thought of me as his best friend? Could he just be trying to make me jealous with the other girls? Or are we really just friends?

Who knows, but he sounds like a great guy even to have as a best friend.
try and hint that "what do you think can guys and girls really just be friends"
if he's says "yea like you and me" then most likely no
if he says anything diffident MAYBE yes
