You guys think the NBA should extend the age rule to 3 years in college before you can come out?
Honestly I think so for a number of reasons. 1. It gives older NBA guys an actual shot to continue their careers and have chances at championships instead of an young guy coming in and automatically taking their spots. 2 Is it would give young players a chance to grow, improve their game, learn the game and become really pro ready. 3 Last I believe a college education can take you far in life and it will give opportunities in life.

Yes, I agree that the NBA should extend the age rule to 3yrs so the players can mature and not be captured with the fame and the fortune that the NBA is giving to them. This allows them to improve their game and become a better player all around.

I don't even think there should be an age limit to play in the NBA. If there is a 16 year old that can play with the pros why not let him play? And for your 3rd reason they clearly don't need a college education considering they are going to be paid millions in the NBA.

Stern wants to increase the age limit to 20 (so 2 years in college) but is continuously turned down by the players association.
I think it should be 3 years for different reasons. I love college basketball and the NCAA tournament would be so much more exciting if guys are there for at least 3 years. If its done this way I do feel college athletes need to be paid though.
EDIT: Nice job Pharr I posted this 9 seconds after you lol

Hell to the NO.
NCAA basketball is hidden under this veil of "amateurism", but it isnt really amatur at all. Everything about it is professional, except for how the players get paid nothing. They are exploited. Teams have multi-million dollar TV contracts, The TV networks are making millions if not billions.
With all the best players leaving after 1 year the college product has been falling in quality, and loosing a lot of money and a lot of ratings.
The whole point of the age limit increase is to help the schools and tv networks make more money on college ball. They are going to make billions of dollars and the kids are going to miss out on billions of dollars.
Its unfair exploitation of the talent.

Why do future nba players need a college education? IF they are going into the draft, then they are about to make bank. And F No, not 3 years.

I think that you have to be out of college or 21 to play
The only way someone could play pro ball in America would be to play in the NBA D-League

3 years will never happen. The league has voiced its desire to change it to 2 years, but the players association will never agree to that either. Bumping it to 2 years would make college basketball so much better.

You got a lot to learn if you follow that line of thinking.
