what is causing the brake switch to keep burning out on my 2002 zx2?
i have put on 3 brake switches and they last for a few mths then burn out what is causing this. its a ford escort 2002 zx2
luke brake light switches are 10 bucks hardley the price you pay for a different car, maybe you should answer questions in the dumb dept. im trying to get to the bottem of the problem thats causing them to blow.
all wiring is good and its the right switch any other ideas

Mostly likely, wiring probs.
Check for bad insulation, etec.
Maybe fuse probs.

make sure it is the right one for the car 2 check the amount of voltage going to the switch 3. check for ground wire in the circuit. 4. make sure the wires are in the correct place.

Look at the wires where they plug into the switch. Fords are known for using too small of wires here. If they look burnt or are frayed, replace them.

all the money you spend on brake switches, you can buy another car besides escorts are unreliable, they're known for breaking down.
