If they're babies then that means that their small and if not all pet stores keep their baby reptiles in those small enclosures because nowadays people will usually buy them within a week or so, so they'll get sold fast or get send somewhere else to make room for more others, and PetCo and PetSmart are commonly known for their abuse towards other animals so their is nothing that you can really do about it as it's been done before, but I think it was because of the dogs and cats being bred/sold from puppy mills, but I like the concern, passion, and love that you have for these reptiles as i've seen in your previous questions and the answers you've gave, but you must realize that you can't save every animal in the world, but you for sure can at least try, but instead of whining about it all the time:

Why don't you just talk to them or try to get a job offer and explain to them the improvements that these people can make for the reptiles to feel more happy and healthy, but yeah you can't save every animal that you try to, but glad that you love and care about them. just try your best kid and no need to always get angry all the time about it. Good Luck!

The problem is, it's more likely a company thing than an individual store thing. Since they're babies, they'll get sold quickly, so they won't be in there for too long. It's like breeders taking animals to a two-day reptile show - yes, they're in little deli cups, but they're meant to sell quickly. It doesn't make it right, but the company won't change its policies, since it's capitalist - their aim is to make profit quick. So many complaints have been made against petco and petsmart over the years, but nothing will change the fact so long as someone is buying their animals - and someone always will, whether out of ignorance or pity. I recommend you find yourself a nice local pet or reptile store.

I would never buy animals from Petco... you just never know where they came from and if they were tank-raised or not. Incidentally I have 2 beardies so I know what you are talking about. 5 gallons is really small, but if they are babies they are probably ok. It sucks, I know... maybe complain to the manager, make your voice heard, write the company. I complained in walmart once about the state of their fish tanks, it doesn;t hurt to complain (intelligently) in front of other customers. If they sympathize, they may complain as well.

they are babies.. use your brain. they are selling those lizards at an average of 4 per week (at the lowest) meaning those lizards will only be in that enclosure for less than a week.

Beardies? Dragons? What? If your talking about animal abuse, then do something about it, but I'm not even sure what you're talking about...
