Windows Unexpected shutdown?

So, lately my computer has been shutting off unexpectedly. If i leave it on during the night I will come back to a monitor that wont wake up if I move the mouse but the tower of the PC is still on. Is it something to do with the computer being in sleep mode? how can i stop this from happening or stop my Vista PC from going to sleep and not waking up. When i turn it back on it usually says "Windows has Recovered From An Unexpected Shutdown", and then there's some code that I cant paste right now. PLEASE HELP

    Vista, for a start is a RAM hog. I would recommend upgrading to Windows 7, as it's faster and more reliable. But, if that is not an option, try doing a System Restore to a point where the PC functioned correctly (say 1 week ago).

    Also, try a virus scan, as you may find viruses lurking in the depths of your Hard Drive. OOOOOH. This could be the cause.

    If you can't get to the bottom of your issue, I'd recommend reinstalling Windows from your recovery discs/partition.

    i want you to take a look at the event viewer log and see what the trouble code is , could be a program causing the problem ,mines was real player being corrupt, reinstall it d now the pc works fine,also check the power option settigs
