why can't we use gravity for energy?
this question opened up from my "why can't we use magnetism for energy?" question.
the fact im simply looking for infinite (atleast extremely long lasting) laws or sources to be converted to energy.
why don't we use gravity for energy? and what are some ideas you have for energy on an infinite scale?

You mean that hydroelectric power is not fundamentally gravitational? Wow, you need to write a paper and win a Nobel Prize for over-turning the Laws of Physics!
You are looking for laws to convert to energy.
Or maybe it is "sources"...
I am blinded by your brilliance.
Here I thought energy can be neither created nor destroyed.
You will need to either sober up and stop engaging in magical thinking or go back to reading your fantasy and magic fairy tails. Your choice.

You cannot easily use gravity for energy production because you first need to apply an opposite force to get an object away from the source of gravity, which takes an amount of energy.

Well, earth only has one gravitational pull. Just as an example, when you spin a wheel, it stops eventually because gravity is acting on it. I can't think of any way of using gravity alone to convert into consumable energy.

Gravity won't work because first you have to overcome it. In theory, it will take you as much energy as you going to create. Throw in a few inefficiencies and you have a nett loss.
It would be simpler if we melted down all the body fat from obese people. Win:win
