Why are restaurants replacing french fries for steak fries or american fries?
Zels, Long John Silvers, and Burger King have all replaced french fries. Why?
@ flyinroom I'm not talking about the nonsense about fries years ago. Restaurants are actually changing their french fries to different types like steak fries http://roastersntoasters.com/product/1cc3e5ac-30f1... and american fries. http://www.ktuu.com/gotoak/fooddrink/lunchbox-krin...

Fresh handcut and not frozen type? They might hold up better in the waiting stage after cooking.

The Americans were angry at the French for something. (I think it was something to do with the Irak
war). So everybody got all excited and started renaming anything french as in french fries became
freedom fries and so on and so forth.
The restaurants (mostly chain) appear to be indulging in one of two of America's favorite past times these days. Either "Pandering to to the base" or "promoting isolationism".
In fact, both of these activities are front and center with the talking points of most rightwing conservatives.
