Because teens don't think! They go off of hormones and emotions. A girl will think she's "in love" with a guy, or that "you cant get pregnant the first time" or some such nonsense, and she ends up pregnant. The guy doesn't think enough to wear a condom and neither consider that hey, maybe we should wait. Maybe we don't need to have sex at 14/15/16 to strengthen our relationship.
