is the footballer Lional Messi the best player ever?

The only question marks I have regarding Messi is that he has achieved all of his success in one of the greatest teams in history, which must make scoring goals a lot easier, and that he has yet to make his mark on a World Cup tournament.

Whereas Maradona and Pele were regarded as the world's greatest when they were playing for unremarkable teams (Napoli and Santos). And Maradona almost single handedly took an average Argentina side to glory in 1986 (and nearly again in 1990).

However Messi is still only 24 and could still win a couple of World Cups. Then I think he could be regarded as the greatest ever.
