Would I be able to play skyrim/battlefield 3 on this laptop?

http://h20000.www2.hp.com/bizsupport/TechSupport/D...

I just ordered it with a cooling fan and mouse.

I wanted to know if it can handle skyrim and battlefield 3, I don't care if I'd have to lower graphics settings for the games as long as they're playable.

you should call HP and change your order, have them include the 7690ATi upgrade! bout 150$ more but worth every penny.

they are also able to offer you a free upgrade to 6 gigs of ram, if they do, take it!

otherwise skyrim will play just on medium settings (with some tweeking to the detailed settings)

    get that upgrade from HP!

If they give you some crapp about not being able to Modify or cancel the order, then just call your credit card company and do a chargeback on them and reorder what you want, no need to waste your precious time.

No. That laptop doesn't have a dedicated graphics card. It uses the AMD Radeon HD 6520G http://www.notebookcheck.net/AMD-Radeon-HD-6520G.5... which is the APU integrated GPU from AMD. This means on top of the fact that the GFX are relatively WEAK for gaming to begin with it also has to borrow system RAM in order to work. Bit of a double whammy in my mind. Bottoming out EVERYTHING graphically speaking and reducing your resolution down to 1280x1024 MIGHT enable some gameplay but I seriously doubt that it will be playable at all.

That is UP TO 2GB RAM. It needs to borrow that RAM from the system. It is not dedicated video RAM. I'd rather not nurture false hopes.

http://www.game-debate.com/games/index.php?g_id=11... shows you a RED X next to gfx . Game debate does give your APU a 7 but the the GPU crashes the party. Looking at that site I would venture a possible but the 6520 doesn't fill me with any confidence. Their scores are below.

    CPUFusion A6-3400M Quad Core 7/10

    GFXRadeon HD 6520G 3/10

    RAM4GB 7/10

you should be fine on medium or low settings especially because the graphics has 2gb of memory. Looks like a good comp.
