How much would you pay for a beef pie?

If it was part of a fundraiser. Would you pay $50 for a homemade beef pie? $40 for a homemade chicken pie? If not, how much would you be willing to pay knowing that the money is for a good cause?

Would you pay $25 for a dozen iced cupcakes?

I want to raise approx. $5000 for a volunteer abroad trip and have given myself a year to raise the money.

Update:

$15 would barely cover the cost of the ingredients for a beef pie

Update 2:

Fundraising to do Int'l volunteering is an acceptable practice according to various websites I have visited.

Where I live, a pkg of stewing beef is already pre-cut and that is what I use for stews/beef bourginon (sp?) and what I would intend to use for the pie. If I go the meat pie route, maybe I'll make it a raffle instead, along with individually priced cupcakes

It would depend on A) what the cause is, B) what type of beef was used, and C) how big it is.

    For example....

    1) Helping someone take a trip abroad is not a good cause. Helping someone with brain cancer/lost their home in a fire/ etcetera is a good cause.

    2) Is it a cheap, "select" grade flank steak, real "Prime" Kobe beef, or an in-between cut/grade?

    3) Is it a single serving pie, or big enough to feed a family of 4?

For a normal beef pie (that had a bottom crust) for one person, I might pay $5-$7. For family size, maybe $12-$15. The last one I made was with a Black Angus sirloin steak, vegetables, and had a bottom crust for about $9 (and it fed 4)

No way would I pay $40 for chicken anything

$25/dozen cupcakes...maybe, depends on the size and flavor

No way would I pay such an exorbitant price and I would suggest you look at the prices in the Supermarkets for more realistic prices, and whilst I support an entreptruer I wouldn't support it for a personal enterprise, but a Charity or something like that I may pay a reasonable amount.

I would give my unborn child for a beef pie.
