Can I use my contact lens prescription to order eyeglasses on Glassesshop.com?
I always wear contacts before, but want to get a pair of eyeglasses now. Do I need to have my eyes re-examined or just use the contact prescription if I order glasses online, like Glassesshop.com?

In most cases, the prescruption for contact lens and eyeglasses is different as the contacts are attached rightly on the eyeball. You need to contact your doctor and make an appointment. Glassesshop.com is a good online store(I also bought a pair of glasses once). So I know that as long as you enter your prescription before the payment, they will get you the lenses of good quality. I remember their customer service e-mail is: service@glassesshop.com You can E-mail them about your concerns.

While your contact lens and eyeglass prescriptions may seem the same, they usually have differences. You must have your eyes examined and ask for an eyeglass prescription

Your eyeglasses prescription will most likely be different from your contact lens prescription. You should make an appointment with your optometrist.

The distance between your spectacle lens and eye is called the vertex distance. When you wear contact lens, the lens is in direct contact with your eye, thus there is no vertex distance.
Because the medium where the light rays are different;
Example 1(spectacles): air to lens to air to eyes
Example 2(contact lens): air to lens to eyes
thus the effect of power of lens would differ. Its best to have regular eye checkups as well to ensure image clarity and good vision.
