How to convince mom not to volunteer at my after prom?

I need some really good arguments for why I do not want her to be there. I can't straight forwardly tell her I'm gonna be drinking and don't want her to see me drunk.

I'm spending the next two days on a road trip with her and plan to bring it up then. I'm a girl. if that matters. and I have a boyfriend. and I'm 17.

Be as honest as you can, without being hurtful. Just use your arguments and say that you'll be responsible, and that this is one of your opportunities to grow up.

Get over it. You're 17 now, you don't want mom there. When you are 25 you will be saying thank you mom. And when you 50 you will be saying I wish my mom was here.

Face it, she is your mom, she loves you. She wants nothing but the best for you.

Refuse to go. That way you can stay home and she'll enjoy the afterparty. Win win.
