Help with Windows 7 please and email links?

Hi

I am new to Windows 7 so please be patient with me, I am still finding my way around:

When I click on a return email link on a website: eg customerservices@currys.co.uk I get this message for Windows Explorer: Could not perform this operation because the default mail client is not properly installed. Is this the web page error and a fault on their site or is it my email that is not properly installed? If I am in Ebay for example and click on someones email address it immediately takes me to my send page? This makes me think it is not my email?

Any answers and pointers very much appreciated.

Thank you

The return email link only works if you got Outlook set up and enabled as the receiving (and sending) email client.

In Internet Options, you might be able to set which programs are used for email inks but that, again depends if you have an installed email service (not online like Yahoo or anything) but perhaps Messenger might work. Considering that I use neither of them (only Yahoo) I'm not totally sure.

Ebay is a messenging system - you send messages to users within Ebay - which can then trigger email alerts to your webmail provider's mail server.

If you log on via the Internet to your ISP's mail server then you are using webmail and that requires no software to be installed.

If you use an email client like Outlook or Windows Live Mail then you install softweare on to your computer and it runs a program which connects to your ISP's mail server to send and receive email.

You can try setting the defaults in internet explorer, tools, internet options, programs, set programs

You may need to install an email client such as outlook express. This is not available by default you have to install it as a windows live essentials here is your link

imho your outlook express is your default client and it is not setup correctly , you need the outgoing and incoming mail settings from your isp , but if you dont want to bother with this, then my suggestion is to get gmail email, and just copy and paste the address .

if this is not the answer or not what you are looking for then add me on google plus thanks
