Do Ann Romney critics honestly thing that she has done nothing all her life?

As if first ladies can get away with that while being in the public spotlight.

"In 2005, the governor appointed his wife as head of a new special office whose purpose was to help the state's faith-based groups gain more federal monies in association with the White House Office of Faith-Based and Community Initiatives. This came after the state had seen its share of faith-based grants decline over the preceding three years. In this unpaid Governor's Liaison position, Ann Romney was termed a "dynamo" by Jim Towey, director of the White House office.

She has been involved in a number of children's charities, including being director of the inner city-oriented Best Friends. She worked extensively with the Ten Point Coalition in Boston and with other groups that promoted better safety and opportunities for urban youths. She was given the 2006 Lifetime Achievement Award from Salt Lake City-based Operation Kids. She has also served as a board member for the United Way of America and helped found United Way Faith and Action."

It's doesn't really matter, I don't even consider that when voting for a president.

Even if she didn't do all the above listed things she raised a family and supported her husband in all his adventure whether they be good or bad.

And someone said the average woman.....the average woman is a mother and wife, that in itself comes with many struggles.

Ann Romney had maids, cooks, and nannies working for her. She has never had to worry if she is going to have enough money to pay the bills and put food on the table, or how to pay for the healtcare one of her kids needs. That appointment sounds more like somethihg to keep her busy, since Jim Towey was extreme right wing working under GW Bush, that analysis of her doesn't go far. Those charities are the same thing, it probably included several ice cream socials. Since her "awards" were out of Salt Lake City where you don't go anywhere unless you're a Mormon, these are not really awards for serious work.

From what I see, there is nothing here that comes close to working to make a living.

There are plenty of women who pull down one or even two jobs AND run a family without any help from a maid. z

All that said, I must say that I like Ann Romney more than I like Mitt.

After the abuse conservatives have thrown on Michelle Obama for the last 3 years it is interesting to see how touchy they are about the mildest bit of criticism of Anne.

That said I take my hat off to the GOP. She is vast improvement on 4 years ago when they were promoting for first lady a spoilt trust fund kid who turned into a drug addict and stole from a charity to support her habit .

Scott can never aspire to be half the human being Ann Romney is, having fabricated his USAF service with his imaginary DD213 he revels in flaunting, and his day job patrolling the parking lot of his local Wal-Mart.

    Facts:

Ann Romney has a Bachelors in Liberal Arts from Harvard.

Ann Romney was involved in numerous charities whilst Mitt governed Massachusetts.

Ann Romney triumphed over MS and breast cancer.

    Ann Romney raised five children.

What have you done that's so prominent, besides go on tirades about how you're a USAF veteran and everybody is a bleating, squawking, closeted, homosexual Conservative chickenhawk? Why does the fact that you're a colossal failure upset you so horribly?

No, they are jealous. We (America) have blown it. At one time a man could work and raise a family. His wife could take care of the children. This was pretty much the natural state of man for oh, about 100,000 years. Now, in most families, both have to work and either TV, no one or strangers raise the children.

We are jealous because anymore only the rich can do this and we instinctively know it's better for our children. So, they lash out and say she's not doing anything to demean her.

Any First Lady or potential First Lady is little more than window dressing and should not be included in any serious debate about the merits of electing their husband.

N-O--B-O-D-Y said that Ann Romney never did anything all her life. Please don't pretend that a woman like her who has always lived a privileged life, can comprehend the issues that women who have kids and take care of their home and family AND HAVE A FULL TIME JOB, deal with every day.

There is a huge difference between volunteering your time and having a FULL TIME JOB. What is with you cons? It appears to be phony outrage to me.

I see you missed the point that Ann Romney was saying that women don't care about all of the laws being enacted against them. Women are multifaceted. We are capable of caring about more than one issue. Yes, we care about the economy, but we also care very much about our rights, which the GOP is trying to strip away from us.

She's done a hell of a lot more than that attention-seeking-whore Michelle Obama. Btw, I support Ron Paul in the coming election, but romney is better than santorum, gingrich, and osam- oh sorry, Obama.
