Why won't Vegans eat this?
Just wondering why a vegan wouldnt eat an unfirtilized chicken egg if they knew that the animals were kept in loving conditions (such as keeping them yourself and not killing them once they stopped laying)?
Just wondering - Im not some nutter having a go at vegans
Thanks
Im looking for a moral reason
If you look up why vegans dont eat meat its because of how the animals are kept etc.
I want to know if the animal is kept in a loving conditions such as you raising them, then why wouldnt you?
just saying because its animal protien isnt good enough for me.

It's simple, really.. vegans do not eat animals or animal by-products.. eggs are animal by-products..
What's so difficult to understand?

Because vegans choose not to USE animals as things. It's not about HOW the animals are kept, it's the fact that animals are kept and used as egg producing units at ALL.
Compare it to human slavery. It does not matter if you keep slaves in 'loving conditions' and it does not matter if you only use them to do things they would be doing anyway, it is still wrong to keep a human being as your slave.
In the case of chickens, as Sheila mentioned, there is also the issues of the 'worthless' boys. When you breed chickens to lay eggs, half the chicks are male, and nobody buys them. At least not alive. But even without this issue the mere fact that chickens are being USED for eggs is against vegan philosophy.

Some vegans would eat a chicken's egg if they raised the chicken themselves and weren't intending on killing the animal or making any profic ect. from it.
Others see this as stealing from the chicken.
Alot of vegans, because they haven't eaten eggs in so long, just generally don't want to eat an egg as they find it pretty gross.
...Depends on the vegan, I guess. :)
EDIT - oh, and as others have said, vegan is a diet of only plant foods so eating an egg (no matter where it's from) technically isn't vegan.
In response to the other question you just asked, alot of vegans don't want to use animals at all for any purpose especially since it's unneccesary for their wellbeing/survival. They don't want animals to be seen as creatures you can just use for produce whenever you feel like having a fried egg. They want animals to be free from human exploitation, in other words.
As I said though, some will eat eggs from a chicken they are raising themselves.

Vegans dont eat anything animal related AT ALL. They are very strict with what they eat, (including a unfertilized chicken egg) Anything that came from an animal, will not be eaten or worn by STRICT vegans.

Too put it in simple terms, it's an animal product, and vegans do not eat animal products regardless of how deluded you are in terms of how the said animal is treated

Ethical vegans will not use animal products for clothing, toiletries, or any other reason, and will try to avoid ingredients that have been tested on animals.
Veganism is the practice of abstaining from the use of animal products. , vegans reject the commodity status of animals and the use of animal products for any purpose.

It is unnatural to eat another mammals eggs just as it would be to eat human eggs. Eggs are the means to a potential life and not a food source.

Either they just don't like eggs, or they love to conform to labels.
Other than these two reasons there are no other logical reasons why they wouldn't eat them.
EDIT
If its not natural mermaid, then why do many different animals eat other animal species eggs? lol I'm quite sure early humans ate them whenever they could find them. After all, when you either eat or die, people wouldn't pass up any food source. You are quite ignorant on this subject. You are letting your personal beliefs get in the way of science and facts. That is a sign of a lack of intelligence.
