I was talking to someone on facebook who claims to be a licensed realtor, ?

I have not actually met her, so I would like to check her credentials, is there some way I could do a search and find out if she really has a license, or really works for an agency?

Update:

I wanted some advice, so I need to know if everything is on the level before I can take this advice

Hey, why do you think they call it fakebook?

There is a reason why we call her job REAL estate agent, and not fake estate agent.

My guess is she is just a friend of someone who wants to sell their house.

There is a way you can get your house sold without paying a real estate agent's commission, this involves using the internet to hook you up with a buyer.

If this estate agent were real, and you were a real buyer, she would see to it that you would know something about her, if there was any chance of you buying a house with her being involved in any way.

If you need to ask this, then she is not a professional who got her job done.

Source(s): the department of realtors site. they can't tell just anyone who asks about a particular realtor, this information could be used by a spammer

If this is the US then check with your local department of realtors.

I would ask her all of that, and if she is legit she should have NO problems whatsoever giving you info. If she gets mad, or acts weird, I bet shes not legit.
