What are your thoughts on the Grand National?

I personally think that its crude and inhumane. Horses have been killed in it!!!! Its just plain abuse.

What do you guys think?

It should have been banned years ago. I can't believe it is allowed to go continue still.

Horses have also died in plenty of other sports, and they die in or as a result of races here in the US all the time. The National is no more and no less abusive than any other horse sport or activity. I think that we as Americans are hardly in a position to criticize other nations, when our own record on this subject is piss poor. As it says in the Bible: "Let him who is WITHOUT SIN cast the first stone." People need to remember that this applies to sports like racing, too.

Source(s): I'm a horse owner and long time follower of all horse sports, including racing.

Horses have also been killed at small shows when jumping 4 foot jumps, so have people.

although it's extremely dangerous and risky, there's a little part inside me that just loves it. those horses that are doing it, and soaring over those hugh jumps, they makes my heart fly. they're so beautiful, i have absolutely no words to describe it. i cry watching it, its so embarrassing!
