why does cartoons people have only four fingers?

Well, really it just makes it a lot easier to draw.

And sometimes cartoon characters hands look funny with 5 because it looks all bunched up. LOL

For some, yes.

I've long suspected that when no one is looking, the cookie monster eats other things besides cookies.

Depends if they are animals then they would have four fingers or less.

Not all "cartoons people" have four fingers but I would assume it's because of the simple fact that it's easier to draw.
