If I'm 17, but I'm about to graduate high school, do I need a work permit?

My schools says if we're working we need a permit from the school, but I'm about to graduate in June and I don't know if the work permit I have from my school would even matter if I've graduated. I want a job now, but if I have to wait till the summer where do I get a work permit then?

You don't need any work permits in any state from any school if you are 17.

    Someone is pulling your arm.

Only if you plan to miss school due to family financial hardship, would you need this.

I have been working since I was 16 and not once did I ever have a workers permit. I believe if you 15 or younger you need one from your parents. I think you should be ok. A school cannot dictate whether you have a job or not. From what I read some states make it 12-17 need workers permits where you can pick one up at your school. This permit is to be filled out and signed by your parents. Go into the job and ask them.
