Why are public servants Fifth Amendment rights against self incrimination not suspended while in office?

Why do we not make it so that any person wishing to serve as a public servant, must have their right against self incrimination suspended while serving? This would apply to everyone from police officers, to senators, to judges right on up to the president. After all, if someone is going to be granted authority over other people, shouldn't they be required to be completely honest and transparent, even if it gets them into trouble????
