Are you of mixed heritage?

Do not be ashamed of it. Do not let anyone make you feel bad about your ancestors.

I have Spanish & Italian blood and I am proud of it. Nothing to be ashamed of. The Italians back home consider me as one of them, same with the Spanish.

I don't run around shouting it because I am an American first. It is just my heritage. My parents were respectable people in our neighborhood. so were my grandparents. Me and my brothers and sisters are all 3rd generation citizens of mixed heritage. Our ancestors emigrated to the USA from the old country and worked their way thru life.

As you may know, the USA is a melting pot of cultures and people have emigrated there now for over 200 years. The Philippines is a lot like the USA in that it also has many cultures and will continue to have immigrants ( foreigners ) come and live in your country.

So, do not let anyone take away from you what is yours. Be proud to be who you are. Nothing to be ashamed of.

Update:

INDEPENDENCE,, being "proud" of ones heritage is not "arrogance" but your continued diahrreah is out of " ignorance". why don't you just STFU and be done with it.

Update 2:

TO ONE AND ALL...., I'm happy to see that everyone is proud of who they are regardless of heritage.

Update 3:

TO ONE AND ALL...., I'm happy to see that everyone is proud of who they are regardless of heritage.

I know why you asked this question. At least, I think I know why. That Independent person is trying to make anyone who has Spanish blood feel ashamed of it.

Look at it this way. If the French or British had colonized the Philippines and mixed with the population, then many of the present Filipinos would have French or British blood.

It has been so very long ago that the Spanish were in the Philippines that I'm sure most of the Spanish blood has become less and less. Still, nothing to be ashamed of and you can be proud if you want. It's your heritage and no one can change it.

I have Scotch-Irish, Spanish, Mexican and Cuban.

Yes I am. But I call myself an American.

Wait a minute - didn't we ALL descend from Adam & Eve? That should make us all brothers & sisters or at least cousins as so many people are here.

But really - who cares? It is what you are inside that counts.

I think I'm 100% Filipino :) I'm not denying any foreign roots or anything, it's just that I don't know much about my ancestors.. but I'm sure that my grandparents were born and raised in the Philippines, my great grandparents also are, but as to them being 100% Filipinos, I am not certain. Although it's more probable that I'm 100% Filipino <3

Absolutely correct--EVERYBODY should be proud of their ancestry. Nothing to be ashamed of having certain past relatives--well , that is unless they were named, Hitler, Amin, Caucescu, PolPot, etc. Heritage is a wonderful thing and history and heraldry is great to explore. Just DONT tell others in your country that having certain ancestors makes you better.-or 1st class.

See the difference between history and arrogance, Dogfather?

And ?--you really need to learn to spell--loose crap--(damn Yahoo wont print shi-)-- just goes to show you cant even get that right ???????????????????????????????????????????????? lol And as long as total elitist wankers continue to spout that having a certain heritage makes them a ''better'' or more acceptable person in Filipino society today I will continue to tell that stuck up idiot to go jump in the lake. ANYONE who sets themselves up in any country as ''better'' than their fellow citizens because of their heritage is a moron and a jerk. You just dont get it do you?

Redneck, elitist and blind self indulgent person. Tell me, you also a Grand Wizard of the Klan as well?

Serenata here you are again. We just finished answering similar question and I got angry to the person. I cannot get angry of you because you are one among my preference.

But all I can say is that my grand parents use to say that they have the heritage of spanish blood. I can see their physic differ with the pure filipinos but they didn't indoctrinate us that we have as well since my parents are both born filipino. My father has this fine pointed nose while my mother has a cute one, little pointed too. But they look filipinos to me. Our ancestors come from Canton. Myself got a small pointed nose with slant eyes. So have I got an spanish descent,- don't know, physic gives the answer. Mucho gusto.
