MTG: Tokens and dying?

Just double checking: Tokens can die, right?

For example: A Zombie Token blocks and takes lethal damage. Does the lethal damage on this token trigger the on death of another Zombie ability of Vengeful Dead ( http://gatherer.wizards.com/Pages/Card/Details.asp... ). I assume yes and I have always played it that way. I am just looking for confirmation or any recent rule changes that says token's don't trigger on death abilities for some reason.

Yes, tokens do die (goes to the graveyard from the battlefield). Tokens just disappears after it hits the graveyard before any player gets priority but it still triggers ability like vengeful death's.

    Q1: Tokens can die?

A1: Yes if you mean creature tokens.

Your example: When a zombie creature token dies, Vengeful Dead's triggered ability will trigger.

Rule: there is no recent rule change on creature token entering and/or leaving the field.

Source(s): My experience. Gatherer. Comprehensive Rules. I have been playing since Ice Age (1995).
