    2.40*(x)+1.40*5=1.90(5+x)

    2.40x+7=9.5+1.90x

    2.40x-1.90x=2.5

    .5x=2.5

    x=5

    c=coffee

    you havde to add the price for the expensive coffee beans (2.4c) to the price of the cheap coffee beans (7$) and average it to get 1.9

    (2.4c+7)/(c+5)=1.9

    2.4c+7=1.9(c+5) multiply both sides by c+5

    2.4c+7=1.9c+9.5 subtract 1.9c and 7 from both sides

    .5c=2.5 divide both sides by .5

    c=5
