Advice about Residency?
I'm in a bad situation. I am going to college out of state in Indiana. I currently have Michigan residency, but I have not lived there for 2 yrs. My family is moving to Texas, so I will have no family in MI. I cannot apply for Indiana residency b/c I am here for college. I cannot get Texas residency b/c it requires I drive 19 hrs to TX to get my car inspected. Any advice?
Only problem is that I won't have a MI address or have any family in MI to renew license plate tag.
I know it's not applying... i just used that for lack of a better term.

You do not "apply for residency", you eithe are or not... for some things you "are" and for somethings you aren't.
As an Indiana student who started school as a non-resident, you will remain a non-resident for tuition purposes for the diration of your undergraduate education.
Indiana will GLADLY allow you to register your car in the state and allow you to have an instate drivers license.
As a student you are also eligible to vote in Indiana, as long as you are registered to vote in the state.
