Consider your source: China, you don't think that there is a little propaganda involved here? The US does not have a squeaky clean human rights record but we're shiny compared to other countries, like CHINA. To find an actual accurate link about the US, you need to go to a site like the US Census Bureau or Center for Disease Control (that will tell mortality rates by country).

True, the US's human rights record is appalling, at least for a country that claims to be the leader of the free world. That said, the China Daily is a mouthpiece for the Chinese Communist Party and those numbnuts can't claim any sort of supremacy in the human rights area. Perhaps it's time to start discussing Tibet again.
