RHH: IT'S TIME TO POST JAZZY HIP-HOP SONGS FOR COMPILATION ALBUM # 2?
Voting results:
(7 Votes) - 90's hip-hop jazz album
(11 Votes) - 00's hip-hop jazz album
(1 Vote) - Jazz instrumental album
-----------------------
It's clear that we are going to do a 00's compilation album of jazz influenced hip-hop songs, so lets do it mayne. Jazz music and it's definition is broad, also it isn't just a saxophone only genre like some may perceive it to be, but I think most of us on here have somewhat on an idea of what jazz influenced hip-hop music sounds like. Try your best is all I can say and some song choices might be in the realm of jazz-soul, so that's fine too.
Here's three song choices of mine from where I might choose ONE of the three to use in the compilation album. Used them as a guidance to help you pick a song that will match the vibe that we are trying to create for this compilation # 2:
Kero One - In All the Wrong Places:http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=O9UDTOveUyk
Jazz Liberatorz - Cool Down (ft. Raashan Ahmad):http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TtboE30QoPU&feature...
Surreal & the Sound Providers - The Rundown:http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YxtGugNmJtI&feature...
Alright go and look for something good. This compilation album should be ten times better than our first one. *Crosses fingers* I'll leave this open for a couple of days. All you gotta do is post ONE song and that's it. I will take care of the rest like last time. Later.
Everyone is encouraged and welcomed to participate. I don't care who you are as long as your song is dope. The more songs the better it is to choose from.
P.S. - Think about your song choice carefully too, don't just post whatever because I'm picking the best ones. I have an 18-20 song spots for the compilation, maybe more depending on how good it goes.
For those that missed the 1st compilation album, click on my profile for a link to the blog.
Sorry about this, but PLEASE TRY to stay away from well known artists. The whole point of these compilation albums is to give shine to undermentioned ones....

Here's a song that is literally rapping over Jazz. It's by Lupe Fiasco. I know he's very world known but this is the truest to that Jazz sound. .It would make for a great intro for the album. It's a unkown Lupe track too, I only expect complete Lupe stans to have heard this track before.

If you want a lesser known artists than here's my backups.

Fashawn - Stars
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UZgWj6oEwLE
If you want a Star theme too, even though this is pretty much interchangeable with the Funky DL joint posted earlier...I still feel like it should be up for consideration.
Or...
Dela - Chill

Because Dela.
And finally, because I feel like it's probably going to fit the best.
Da Grassroots - Black Dove

None of these are extraordinarily obscure though...

Thrust and Choclair - This N' That
