Can I get my driver's licence in the UK if I'm from another country?

I may be spending a year in the UK and I still don't know how to drive well so I may not be able to get my licence here. Do you think it'd be possible for me to get one there? Thx!

You would have to be resident in the UK for 6 months before you could apply for a learner licence giving you 6 months to get through the tests which is not likely - so No really

This gives the residency requirements for a new UK licence: http://www.direct.gov.uk/en/Motoring/Motoringtrans...

You don't have a current license?

If you had your full license from what ever country you are from you could just apply for the international license which would then allow you to drive in certain countries.

I'm not sure how the licensing system in England works but i assume if you havent got any current license that you'd have to through the full procedure to get it. (with possible exemptions)

(which in Australia is seriously annoying)
