Physics Density Question!!! My exam is in 1 week's time!?

A cube of side 2.0 cm has a density of 6.0 g/ cm^3. A hole of volume 1.0cm^3 is drilled into the cube. The hole is filled up with a certain material of density 5.0g/cm^3. What is the density of this composite cube in

(a) g / cm^3

(b) Kg/ m^3

Please write down your steps one by one and please explain it by the side!!! Please help me!

    Volume of cube = 2³ = 8.0 cm³

    Volume of cube with hole removed = 8.0 - 1.0 = 7.0 cm³

    Mass of cube with hole = (6.0)(7.0) = 42.0 g

Volume of hole = 1.0 cm³

    Mass of material in hole = (5.0)(1.0) = 5.0 g

    Total mass of cube with material in hole = 42.0 + 5.0 = 47.0 g

    Total volume of cube = 7.0 + 1.0 = 8.0 cm³

    Density of composite cube = 47.0/8.0 = 5.875 g/cm³ ANS
