My parents won't listen when I tell them I have an eating disorder?

I feel so guilty eating and I'm either starving myself or binging, and I end up hating myself after wards, and beating myself up for it. I find myself eating when I don't want to, and when I'm not even hungry. I'm already overweight and seeing a therapist, and I've told him this, and seperately I have told my mother, but she denies it and says it's normal to eat so much and continues to buy me junk food, which I eat unconsciously and then feel guilty for afterwards. I've always had a problem with food but it's getting worse because I've been denied all the ways I can lose weight. My mother keeps suggesting I go to the gym but it's an adult gym and very confronting.

How can I get my mother to listen instead of just blatantly denying that I have a problem? I can't lose weight if I'm snacking on carbs and fatty foods and confectionary every minute I'm at home.

Got to be really annoying, keep on saying it every day, so she gets annoyed and then buys better food. Not sure really on how old you are? so with the suggestion to the gym, not sure.

What made me eat better were to start exercising(out and jog 4 times a week, something changed in my body and didn't feel like eating that crap, ate less off it.

Took along time for my mom to actually start buying better food with more veg and fruits etc.. Now I moved out and eating a lot healthier.

Keep nagging her, until she does it, worked for me, but will take time and patients.

Well to begin with---whether or not your mom is buying junk food is not the problem in and of itself. You have to make the decision to NOT eat the junk food!

You are compulsively starving or binging as a way to control something in your life.

I think you need to tell a teacher, an aunt, a principal, a coach, a neighbour--somebody until someone gets you the help you need.

You do not need to go to a gym to burn off calories! I lost 65 lbs my senior yr of high school by stretching, walking and dancing--in about 8 months.

Cut out ALL sodaa--it is crap. And only one can is your entire daily allowance of sugar. and candy--all empty calories.

Go for protein--nuts, peanut butter, cheese, whole grain--and drink water--no sports drinks that are also loaded with sugar and chemicals!!!

Find something you like doing--for me it was walking the dog and dancing-- and do that!

get out of the house and get active! walk neighbor's dogs--wash their cars, mow their grass, find things to do to be active and helpful--You will feel better about yourself.

there are always elderly people who would love to have some help with carrying stuff to the car--groceries to the house, etc etc.

either build up some will power and dont eat the things which are around you which i know can be hard or just sit your mum down and tell her 'i want to be thin' 'stop buying in all the fatty foods' you could also keep a diary of all the foods you eat, you will then see how much you really eat and you might end shocking yourself that you go on a major diet? answer my question please?http://uk.answers.yahoo.com/question/index;_ylt=An...

instead of telling her you have an eating disorder, tell her you want to be more healthy and could she buy healthy food instead. your mum will want whats best for you and help you to eat healthy. although she may keep buying junk food because she likes to eat it. just a thought
