triathlon suppliment work outs?

I have all my triathlon work outs down to nice balance. I have my swim, bike and run to all the distance and times I want. But I want to add on other work outs to increase my overall fitness and to add a lil extra help for my races(plus weight loss). I am dabbling in 3 things wondering which way to focus or how to include all 3. I have a bowflex for a circuit training, calenthetics, and yoga that I am barely starting. Is there a way to include all 3, and if so how do I add them to my triathlon work out? If doing all 3 is too much which do I focus on and how to include it.

Any of the three things you have mentioned would complement your swim, bike and run training well. All would provide an element of strength training, core strength and the calenthetics (callanetics?) and yoga would also prove some flexibility work.

Many triathletes include these sort of sessions as a way of reducing the risk of injury. Good core strength and glute strength/hip stability are important for maintaining good posture, and so also helps maintain good technique throughout each discipline.

The circuit training is probably going to be the most physically demanding (and also the only one that would have any real contribution to fat loss unless you are doing particularly strenuous yoga), and therefore this might be a session to include on an easier triathlon training day/week, or when you are feeling quite fresh.

If you are feeling a bit tired then the yoga or callanetics would be a better option.

The best thing would be to include one of these sessions each week and see how you get on, and adjust your schedule once you know how your body responds and how these additional sessions impact on your swim, bike and run sessions.

We have a section on strength training on our website, which includes a page on circuit training for triathlon, if you are looking for exercises to include in this sort of session: http://www.intelligent-triathlon-training.com/circ...
