the ground wire on both sides of frame(middle bottom of truck) was badly corroded. so i replaced with new heavy gauge wire.
also undercoated the bottom but was sure to grind a little off around where i put ground wire on.
now when putting switch in 4wd, the light in dash wont come on.

Your truck uses vacuum pulse to engage the front wheel. I would check the rubber vacuum hoses hooked onto the front hubs on either side. They could either leak or plugged up. Depend on how many miles and how much the 4x4 is used, the electrical shift motor attached to the transfer case may also go bad. Although, you should check all the fuse compartments. You have one on the left foot on the driver side and at the engine compartment on top of the driver side fender. If all else fail, feel free to message me.
