Is this chemical reaction Correct ? "John W"?

This is the reaction of water smoke stack scrubbers, and i am told that it results in synthetic form of the mineral gypsum.

2 SO2 (g) + 2 CaCO3(s) + 4 H2O --> 2 CaSO4 •2H2(s) + 2 H2CO3 (aq)

Your wrong because if i do what you say then carbon is just left by its self So....

    Hi! On the right hand side of the eq., CaSO4.2H2 is not possible..

    Try balancing after writing CaSO4.2H2O.
