I agree with the others...the black and white isn't doing this photo any favors.
Try changing the white balance/tint while it's in BW. It will change the shades and you might be able to make it pop more.
Or use a filter while shooting in black and white and get it right straight out of the camera. :)

one million: sturdy thought, yet not a solid sufficient development. 2: the subject's the sign, particular? too plenty extraneous stuff. And the sign's not that exciting. 3. No. honestly not. Unsharp, incorrect 2nd. we want the face to be seen. 4. a greater advantageous attempt on the sign in 2. nonetheless not precisely gripping as a topic, however. 5. what's it a image of? the sky? that's not that exciting to be truthful,. and the automobiles, lights and shrubbery are only distractions. 6. a honest sufficient thought, yet silhouettes could be uncluttered. The bridge/causeway/in spite of turning out to be out of his head is a deadly blunders. Differential focussing would not paintings: the solid horizontal factor and the sheer crassness of the juxtaposition injury the shot.

Grey, grey and more grey.
May work in color but in grey it has no redeeming features. It needs MUCH more contrast to work in B&W
Use of the correct colored filter would have darkened the flower to make it stand out against the background (eg if it is a red flower against green background - use a green filter to darken red and lighten green)

I think maybe make the background a little less blurred out and make the stem not blurred out. Maybe the flower could be in colour and the rest in black and white but that might not be the effect you are going for. But I think it is actually a really nice photo :)

It is a very nice photograph. The use of the depth of field to highlight the flower is great as is the black and white. If I were to criticize it at all I might suggest that the stem be in focus as well as the flower and perhaps the background be not so defused. But sincerely this is a very nice picture. Well done!
