I have an aunt who goes by Dee, short for Dolores, which means "sorrows".
It could likewise be a nickname for any number of names, ones that start with "D" or have a "D" sound within them. It could also be of Welsh origin, and mean "swarthy" or "dark" or be derived from an Old English word meaning ''noble''. Also possibly from the name of the River Dee, the origin of which I've seen listed as a Celtic word meaning "sacred" or "goddess".

Dee is short for Deanna / Deeann.
What it means I'm not sure but for me it's just the 4th letter of the alphabet!
