You know, I've always enjoyed having tourists around. It's nice to know that others appreciate your city. And NYC can use the revenue!

However, in the past year or two the number of tourists has become overwhelming. And the more tourists there are, the more they seem to only want a sanitized view of NYC. In the old days, when we had more tourists from Europe or Japan and fewer from the U.S. you'd see tourists in jazz clubs, in smaller theaters, in the museums, and just walking in Manhattan neighborhoods. Today's tourists seem to only want to see the big attractions and seem to spend all the rest of their time in Midtown. And they cluster together in a way that can become annoying if you are trying to get anywhere.

So it's kind of a mixed bag. I love seeing tourists who really try to get to know the city.

Only when the tourists are oblivious to those of us who are not on vacation, who actually have places we need to be and things we need to do. I try to be courteous like that when I'm a tourist in another city.

That's the only thing that's annoying with tourists, and in my travels I notice the same thing everywhere, I feel like I'm one of the only people keeping in mind that there are locals who have lives to live and are not on vacation.

Sometimes so many people on the street is a hassle but at the same time it's pretty awesome to see such diversity in one place.

YES! They can't walk & they don't know where or how to stand in crowded spaces. They are so obvious as well. I understand they help our economy, but I really cannot bother with them. They seem so silly and funny to me - like a circus come to town.
