Is it safe to eat store bought hard boiled eggs that are cracked?
I bought two hard boiled eggs, didn't check for cracks. Well they are both cracked. Should I go return them or can I just eat it?
If it's safe, tell me why it is. And if it's not safe, tell me why it isn't.
Thank you, I will go return them.

I always check my eggs before buying lol!! But no it is not safe because who knows how long the eggs have been there? And bacteria can get through the cracks and you'll get sick.
Example: If you bought a bag of chips and it was open a little bit would you still buy it? Or if you bought a candy bar and half it's wrapper was gone would you buy it? No so it applies for eggs.

I hope you returned them, you don't know how they got cracked or how long ago, so bacteria could enter through the cracks and make you ill. With eggs I wouldn't tale a chance.

It's not safe. Cracks in the shell let bacteria in easily, and also let air in which breaks down and spoils the food. Don't eat them.
