  • What kind of dog breeds fit this description?

I recently, finally, moved into an apartment that allows dogs. They just require that the dog is 35 pounds or under. I like bigger dogs and considering the dogs I see my neighbors with, I think i could get away with up to 50 pounds. I don't like small dogs at all. I need a dog that will be able to get along with my roommate's cats. It should be moderately active but able to be alone while i work about 50 hours a week.

  • Unnatural red hair and ocean water?

I plan on dying my hair red with Splat! Crimson Obsession tonight. I've had it before and love the color, but went back to my natural color for a little while. I also plan on going to the beach tomorrow. I've never gone to the beach the day after dying my hair, but I feel like the fact that I'll be bleaching before I dye will help keep the color in. Am I wrong?

  • Help with cleaning an air conditioner?

I have an ancient central air conditioner. It's made by Mueller/Worthington, model 945-151A. I know nothing about electrical work. I live in an apartment and maintenance won't come to replace it. It's adding a lot of money to my electric bill. Can't call in a professional either because of lease terms. Cleaning it myself is the best option. Where do I start and what is safe?

  • Questions regarding Dante's Inferno?

Have you ever, or would you ever read it? Why?

What about the other parts of his Divine Comedy?

    Is it worth the read?

Anything that would help me understand the dialect a little better?

I'm reading it right now for fun, and though I'm enjoying it, googling words I've never heard is a little distracting. Just looking for some opinions on it.

  • When should I dye my hair again?

Lately I've been doing red hair. Like unnatural, look-at-me, flaming red. Now that it's faded again, I want to go blond. I've done blond before and had no trouble going from medium brunette to light blond with just box dye. I had assumed I would be able to do the same now since the red has mostly faded out. Well, last night I used the Garnier Ultra Color series in a shade of light blond. This is the brand I always use for red and it works very well for me. However, my roots are now blond, but the rest of my hair seemed to turn more red, though maybe slightly lighter. My hair still feels soft and strong, no breakage. Would it be absolutely terrible to dye it again today? If not today, how long would you recommend I wait? (I know it's generally four to six weeks...blah, blah. Never wait that long anyways) Any suggestions on what brands work well for achieving blond hair?

  • Any tips for dying my hair at home?

I'm going lighter. I'm a natural brunette, and it's pretty dark. Dyed my hair a couple months ago and tried to go blond, but didn't get a strong enough dye or leave it on long enough. This will be my first time dying it completely on my own, but I know how to dye it and have the instructions in the box. Attempting blond again. My roots are definitely showing and I want them to be the same color as the rest of my hair. Also, have pretty thin hair. Any tips for me? Haven't washed my hair yet today and not sure if I should or not.

  • What's a good, romantic movie to watch tonight?

I'm looking for a movie that not everyone has seen. Something good, romantic, not cheesy, funny, but not a comedy. Too specific? Something I have never seen either. So, not The Notebook, What's Your Number, Eternal Sunshine, Before Sunrise/Sunset, No Strings Attached, 500 Days of Summer, or Friends With Benefits. Also no historical movies. I don't know if you guys can help with this considering I'm pretty picky, but I'd appreciate it.

  • What's the deal with these dreams?

Sometimes I have these dreams that are what I would imagine a stroke to feel like. I get numb and tingly, can't speak, can't control my body, and feel like I'm going to pass out. I fall asleep and wake up inside the dream multiple times, each time wondering if I'm really awake or not. When the stroke feeling comes on I instantly know I'm dreaming and do whatever I can to wake up, only to find the cycle repeating. When I truly wake up I feel fine, but I'm very confused and a little freaked out by these dreams.

  • What should I make for dinner tonight?

So I have no clue what to make tonight. I am a culinary student, so as far as tastes and skill level, neither is an issue. However, I did say I'm a student, meaning I don't have a whole lot of money. I'm only cooking for me so I don't want anything too extravagant, but would like something more interesting than chicken and rice. Maybe something from a certain culture? Just looking for some sort of inspiration here.

  • How can I get in the right state of mind?

Lately I just feel...ugh. That's the only way to put it. I'm easily annoyed with people, hard on myself, and negative. I feel anti-social and don't want to do anything at all, yet I feel like sitting in my room is like locking myself in prison. I just don't know what to do. I drink every night just for something to do and to relax. I'm annoyed with myself for drinking so much (waste of money) yet I desperately crave it. I certainly don't have the money for rehab or counseling or anything. I don't even really want to "stop" drinking, I want to cut back. I'm stuck in a rut and don't know how to get out of it. Anything I can do to relax myself so the drinking becomes more of a social/fun thing instead of something I feel like I need? Also, what are some ways to get enjoyment out of my life again?

  • What do vegans eat at restaurants?

I am a culinary arts major and have a dream of opening a restaurant one day. Of course, I would want some main courses that vegetarians and vegans will want to order. I could come up with a couple vegetarian recipes, but as far as vegan recipes that is a little more difficult for me. Just curious as to what vegans order when they go out to a non-vegan restaurant.

  • How can I do this without seriously injuring myself?

So I work in a restaurant and on weekends I do prep. When making pasta, my chef has asked me to put the colander inside a giant kettle of boiling water, then add the pasta so it can be removed all at once and shocked immediately. Sounds great in theory. However, removing it is difficult. Towels get wet and therefore burn me. Tongs can't grip the sides of the colander for long. I can stand burning myself a little bit, but to have my hands in boiling water while waiting on the water to drain is a different story, My chef tried to remove it last weekend and ended up splashing both of us with boiling water. Not sure if he will still expect me to do it that way or not, but seriously hoping not. If he does, does anyone have any ideas on how I can do it safely?

  • How can I tell what I will look like blond?

As far as I know, I'm white (both parents are adopted) yet I get a nice tan. Currently living in Florida so the tan is a year round thing, even though it's winter. I'm not super dark, but I'm definitely not pale. I have always wondered what I would look like blond, but one, I'm not a big fan of dying hair (roots, upkeep, frying your hair...just seems stupid to me), and two, I don't want to do it and be stuck with it for a little while (the frying my hair thing), and finally, three, I would like to go back to my NATURAL hair color afterwards with no awkward root-growing phase between the blond and natural colors, or choose the wrong color for my natural color when I dye it back. I'm naturally a brunette, but its kind of a dark, reddish color that looks lighter in the sun (some say it looks blond-ish?). Yeah, I guess I'm pretty complicated with my hair. Advice please?

  • Cleansing negative energy from myself?

With the new year coming quickly, I would like to cleanse some of my negative energy from the previous year. I don't have a whole lot of money to do this, nor do I need to cleanse my space, as I have not been there long. Plus, I live on campus at my school, so don't really feel a need to cleanse a temporary space. Any ideas for cheap ways I can cleanse myself to prepare for the new year?

  • Looking for some really cool fonts for numbers?

I'm getting two area codes as soon as I have some extra cash, which should be soon. One will be for my home town, where I grew up and spent most of my life. The other will be for my dream city, where I'm at right now. Basically, it's respect for where I grew up, and a sign of accomplishing my dream. I can't find a good font anywhere online, and it's a bit of a journey to my artist, so don't really want to go there just to have him draw something up and go back later to actually get it. I want time to really look at it, not have him draw it up and get it right away. Know where I can find cool fonts?

  • Why do you think women go for "bad boys"?

I mean the kind of guy that is rude, obnoxious, or a player. Lots of guys complain about the "friend zone", and I have an idea of why women avoid the overall "nice guy". Sometimes the "nice guy" thing is a lie. The bad boys tend to act like a nice guy type when they are trying to attract a girl. Of course, they still show their "bad" side, but tend to act sweeter toward the girl they want at that time. This makes the girl think she is special. When she feels special, she falls for the guy. In the end, the bad boy uses her or hurts her in some way. This creates the illusion that when a guy is being completely sweet and nice, it's all an act to get the girl, not honestly how the guy is. So, eventually showing the "bad side" seems like the honest truth, while being genuinely nice to a girl you are attracted to seems like a lie.

Of course, not all women go for the bad boys. This is just my idea on why some girls do. What do you think?

  • Why do you think a lot of marriages fail?

It's pretty common knowledge that almost half of all marriages end in divorce. Why do you think that is? Personally, I think it's because couples lose appreciation for their spouse over time when they feel they "have" to stay together. Of course, marriages CAN end, but that's an expensive process, which can make people feel trapped. When you feel trapped, you lose sight on reasons why you wanted to be with the person you married in the first place. What's your theory?

  • I really need some quit-smoking tips...help?

I've already failed today, but have cut back drastically. I'm sick of the same quit-smoking tips I've read a hundred times before. Eat candy, snack on veggies, drink water, watch the clock since cravings last three minutes, one puff means you reset the quitting process....none of it helps me even the slightest. I have quitting buddies also, and they're helping but not enough. I refuse to use gum, patches, or pills. I have an e-cig, but that doesn't help either. I really don't know what to do to help, but none of the tips I've heard before help. Please, advice?

  • Does true love conquer all?

Lately, it seems a lot of my friends are having relationship issues. They're all "in love" and one thing or another kills the relationship. Well, my boyfriend and I have a distance issue right now, and we both want our relationship to get through it. Basically, we won't see each other for a little over a year. I love him, he loves me, he's scared I'll move on, I'm scared he will forget me. I don't want to lose him because of something that is beyond either of our control. I have faith in us, but at the same time, when I'm watching everyone else's relationship come crashing down around them it's hard to keep faith. So, what do you think?
