Creative way to start a speech?
I have to give a speech on why child beauty pageants are bad. (Like Toddlers and Tiaras from TLC) I'd appreciate some suggestions on what I could do to make the intro of my speech interesting!

Start with interesting facts--"Children as young as 4 years old wear fake teeth called flappers, have hair extensions and get spray tanned." That will get the audience's attention

Probably tell I really tragic or intense story so that the audience can get hooked.

You could open with some facts like "Did you know...?" or tell a story.
