How to prevent Acer Aspire from going to sleep?

I recently bought a brand new Acer Aspire laptop. I have downloaded various programs and right before I go to bed I set them to shut off computer when finished. Then in the morning I noticed that they are barely 20% done and the computer went to sleep, even with the charging cable plugged in.

How do I prevent my computer from going to sleep before finishing programs. I've already tried right clicking on the desktop and clicking personalize but it's not showing anything like that.

    Go to Start ↔ control panel ↔ Power options. You will find what you need there.

    go to personalize, bottom right it says screen saver, click that and change wait to as long as you want
