What was this arcade game called?
It was an early 90's sf2 style arcade machine and the only character i can remember was a sort of Chinese mandarin wizard/zombie with purple robes who could throw magic, float and do a double footed kick. Any ideas? Thanks

There were TONS of those SFII clones that were released in rapid-fire succession in the early 90's. SFII, Mortal Kombat & Fatal Fury, KOF (King of Fighters), Tekken were probably the most famous but there were hundreds of others.
You should check youtube under "fighter arcade" or I would suggest downloading MAMEUI (MAME 32) and some arcade ROMS from romhustler, romnation or a similar site (all for free). Scroll through the list of titles in MAME and I'm sure it (and many others) will pop out at you.
MAME may seem a little complex at first but it's easy. Just save the UNZIPPED roms into the "ROMS" folder in the MAME stuff. Open up the MAME.exe and scroll down the the title of the game you downloaded. Open it up and BAM, it should be ready to play. I even have a cheapo PS3 style controller that I play on my PC with that I picked up on ebay for a few bucks.
