The fishy smell suggests a mild bacterial infection. Bacterial and fungal infections are often caused by douching, i.e. washing the inside of your vagina, so if you are doing that, stop!

A woman's natural discharge inhibits the growth of hostile bacteria. By cleaning your discharge away you would be creating an environment in which these bacteria can thrive — not a good idea. Any irritation will make your body produce extra discharge in an attempt to clear the problem. You shouldn't wash this discharge away (except maybe any that comes to the outside). Doing that is like picking at a scab. It will stop you healing.

Only wash yourself externally; never internally!

To keep the fishy smell off you can use baby wipes, Vagsil wipes or Summer Eve wipes to wipe down there when you get done peeing. What kind of answers are these Hun take it from a nurse it could be as small as a yeast infection to clyamidia which even if you were sexually active 4 months ago it can still be an STD, UTI do not smell they hurt when you pee and can have blood in urine..it is not normal to have a little fishy small, more than likely it is bacteria vaginitis. Please go to your oxygen or health clinic.

The fish smell is normal. A strong one however isn't normal. But its not serious. Just talk to your doc. He/she might suggest medicine and/or a change in diet. Good luck

Could be a UTI, you should have a gynercologist now that you're sexually active. Go there and she can help with this. (:
