Would pepper spray protect me from dogs?
I like to go for walks but sometimes it's a little scary. A pit bull recently came after me until the owner called it back.

Maybe instead of using pepper spray, walk on a different route. Or maybe, bring an umbrella with you when you walk just in case a dog (or possibly people) tries to attack you, you can defend yourself with the umbrella.
Anyways, using pepper spray would only make the animal angry and panic. Dogs tend to be aggressive when these things happen. Also, the owner might not like what you're doing.
Or another way is that, talk to the owner about the dog making you feel nervous or warn the owner about the dog. Hope these help
Source(s): Have a female dog, both of us almost got attacked by a mongrel and I used an umbrella/ cane to defend myself by threatening it. The second time a dog tried to attack both me and my dog, I used an umbrella, opened it and the dog ran away because of being confused by this defense trick. When I opened the umbrella at the charging dog, it ran away quickly after seeing me opening up an umbrella. - 9 years ago
