The dandelion plant produces those spherical "clocks" you use to make a wish, but I learned it as a way to tell time. Blow the seeds off and the ones left tell the time.

The clock is actually a cluster of many single-seeded fruits called achenes. Each achene has a seed inside and a tuft of hairs called a pappus to help it glide.

Heather - 71/2 / 10, it used to be an oldies name, but it's actually really nice! Petal - 2/10, eurgh, imagine a bank manager calling you Petal when you're older! Rose - 81/2 /10 it's gorgeous but can be a little boring. Daisy - 7/10 Sweet, but not so great when you're older Poppy - 71/2 / 10 nice, but again - not a very adulty name Violet 8/10 very pretty and quite uncommon. Fearne is another flower name which I give an 8 cos it's pretty =) xx

It's the common dandelion but they're not petals but tufts that have seeds and you blow them off and make a wish and hope it comes true.

You're probably thinking of Dandelions, though several other members of the Sunflower family have similar white puffs.
The things you are blowing off are actually the fruits, not petals.

Don't consider that to be true
