I think Ev is a slightly above average emcee. What I think he has going for him is that he has a cool voice, he's got the slow flow down, and he's also actually a pretty good producer (fun fact: he technically won a Grammy with Kanye because he co-produced "Last Call" on the College Dropout. Ev also has the kind of ear for beats that I wish my favorite rappers had. His only downfall is that he's not much of a punchline rapper, he doesn't really have any hard hitting lines, he just crafts good songs, which in the end is all that matters

    - Phonte

My personal favorite emcee of all time. He is funny, he gets personal, he has battle rhymes, he sings, the guy does everything, and he does it great. I just wish he hadn't wasted 2 whole albums on him just singing and no rapping with the Foreign Exhange (they had 3 albums, Connected was a masterpiece in my opinion, but it was also like 90% rapping). Not sure what else to say on him

    - Wale

I still haven't listened to Ambition, and I'm not sure if I'm missing out or not, I always thought he was a fantastic emcee, just sometimes the he couldn't exactly deliver on the concepts he was trying to bring to some of his songs. Mixtape About Nothing and all his mixtapes after were great (especially Back to the Feature), his debut album kind of missed the mark that a lot of people hoped it would hit. It wasn't bad by any mean, it just wasn't that good. I'll have to take a listen to Ambition, regardless of whether or not its good, I still know he's a talented emcee and deserves the success he has

    - Fashawn

Fashawn is another emcee that reminds me of Ev in the same way as far as skill wise, except Fashawn likes to delve into more personal topics along with the "weed" music and can still execute both well. Ode to Illmatic was completely overshadowed by Elmatic even though it was still a great effort. His mixtapes are really hit or miss (for the most part hit though) and he has one fantastic, near classic debut album. I really hope his follow-up "The Ecology" drops this year

    - Scarface

I honestly can't say a lot about Scarface. He made top 10 in my GOAT emcees list, but it was really a lot more about innovation and the way I hear his fans talk about him. His die hard fans are really well spoken and really got me excited to listen to him when they talk about how great he is. I had heard him on the Geto Boys albums but I listened to The Diary and I did think it was a great, near classic album, but I always have this stigma attached to southern rappers that just kind of turns me off, I'm not saying he's bad, but he's just not someone I would normally listen to and it kinda sucks that I feel that way about southern rappers but thats just how it is

    - Joe Budden

Probably (along with Eminem) has the MOST annoying fans in the f*cking world. That being said, I do think he's a very talented emcee, a lot of people judge him for being the weak link in Slaughterhouse, which, yeah he is, but that's not where Joey shines, he really shouldnt be in the group or any group for that matter. I'm nowhere near a big fan of his compared to his stans are, but I do believe he's coming up with concepts and exploring topics that a lot of rappers havent, and not only does he make them relatable but he makes them exciting and engages you while you listen.

Evidence - Great rapper,The Weatherman LP and Cats & Dogs are some of my favorite albums.

Phonte - Dope but i'm not a huge fan.

Wale - Mediocre rapper,he got a few good songs though.

Fashawn - Dope, but i haven't really been impressed with anything he's done after Boy Meets World.

Scarface - The man is a legend down here.

Joe Budden - His mixtapes are some of the best i've heard...can't say the same for his albums.

Evidence- big fan, imo The Weatherman is a classic and Cats & Dogs is a really dope album. I just like a smooth flow and simple, yet filler-free bars. Plus the production he gets is above amazing.

Phonte- Very good rapper, has a great discography with Little Brother and last year's album was solid.

Wale- Has a few solid mixtapes, he's got a cool flow and not bad lyricism

Fashawn- Boy Meets World is one of my favorite albums. I can really vibe to this guy whenever. Really looking forward to his next release, one of the greatest young talents in the game right now.

Scarface- don't listen to him much but he is talented.

Joe Budden- He's okay, but a weak punchline rapper and a mediocre solo rapper.

Definitely Phonte because of his versatility. I mean Connected with Foreign Exchange and Minstrel Show with LB are in my top 10 favorite albums of all time so no doubt, Phonte.

Ev is cool sometimes. Fashawn can be good when he has help. Wale fell off the wayside halfway through Attention Deficit. Scarface is the only one who can come close to touching Tigallo of these rappers IMO. Joe Budden pisses me off, enough said. Pretty good list though.

Evidence: Oldschool style that is ok to hear in some instances

Phonte: Not bad, but won't go platinum

Wale: A hippy whose similar to the classic version of Common Sense

    Fashawn: Never listened to him

Scarface: Is good but was better with the Geto Boys

Joe Budden: Has a couple older songs that were hot, but sucks now

BQ: If i had to choose 1, i'd go with Evidence

Evidence - He's okay, his work with DP is alright but he has boring delivery and flow

Phonte- He's nice- I'm glad he ventured away from 9th Wonder though. It was getting redundant

Wale- Don't like him at all. Voice, flow and everything annoys me

Fashawn- Dope, haven't heard much of him since Boy Meets World though

Scarface- Definitely good, The Fix is one of my favorite albums and Mind Playing Tricks on Me is classic.

Joe Budden- Eh, not really into him. Only song I like of his is Outcast

    Evidence -

Pretty good. I like his flow and beat selection. Overall. Nothing special.

    Phonte -

Dope. Definitely underrated. It took me a while to get into him though

    Wale-

I'm one of the few that like him more now that he's with MMG because I thought the beats he used to get we're wack. But now he's got bangers

    Fashawn-

Solid mc. Not great IMO. I liked ode to illmatic and boy meets world was a dope album

    Scarface-

Great rapper. Underrated. I like just about all he does

    Joe Budden-

Used to be a big fan of his during the first few mood Muzik tapes. Now not so much. He sped his flow up too much and it doesn't fit him ith ink. He's still good though.

    Bq- scarface

Phonte- He's dope, as a rapper & singer

Wale- I don't listen to him

Fashawn- He's alright; reminds of Blu

Scarface- One of the best rapper to come out of Texas

Joe Budden- I don't listen to him much

Ab-Soul: Very versatile MC, as with most of Black Hippy. They all have those party tracks, those ignorant tracks, but at the same time, Ab-Soul and Kendrick especially, they have a potent stream of consciousness. Skill-wise, he's just okay. Lloyd Banks: Punclines................was dubbed underrated so often became overrated. Tech N9ne: He doesn't really have any semblance of cohesiveness at times, but he's really entertaining. Does have an annoying accent. Jay Rock: Meh Childish Gambino: I liked the beats on Camp. But he's basically doing what Cudi has done, with a touch of nerd-rap. Kind of an awkward rapper, doesn't really bother me. Got some decent punchlines, takes a lot of risks. He's hit or miss for me. XV: I like him. BQ: Ab-Soul

I guess I could find a good song from each one...Not sure i've heard of phonte though, there are quite a bit of people i'll listen to a song or two and not remember their names.
