What are some pros and cons of assigned seating in a classroom?
I have an assignment where I have to write a persuasive paper on why we shouldn't have assigned seats in the class. Answering this would not be doing my homework, mearly giving me help.
Thanks in advance.

Allowing students to choose their own seats would allow students who know that they have special needs to choose seats to their advantage. A student with hearing loss in one ear could choose to sit to the side with the better ear toward the center of the room. Those with vision problems might choose to sit toward the front. Those who know that they have trouble focusing could choose the front. Of course, there are those who just want to sleep, secretly text or do something else might favor the back so they might be able to sneak whatever they want, but they would be happy about the freedom of choice. If someone doesn't like someone in the class (ex boyfriend, a creep, or somebody annoying) the student would have the opportunity to not sit by someone who they wish would be far away. If the teacher tends to do partner activities, friends might make a point to sit together, or someone who struggles might try to sit next to the class smart person.

i in my opinion am not a huge fan of it. My anecdote: i became a unmarried human being (no date) on the marriage of an previous pal from intense college. The couple divided the room into his human beings/her those with the dance floor contained in the middle. i became seated with a relatives of 5, being the sixth human being to fill out the table. The relatives confirmed up 45min previous via reception, and that i have been given to eat salad on my own earlier the human beings on the subsequent table over crunched jointly so i ought to eat with them. This became even in spite of the indisputable fact that there have been various open chairs at different tables, because those seats were reserved for others and that i did not sense excellent taking somebody else's position. After dinner, purely one aspect of the room all started dancing. in reality it became her relatives staring at his dance. It took the DJ 1/2 the nighttime to get her relatives on the dance floor, an project that the seating emphasised. The seating association also emphasised at the same time as relatives contributors left to take pictures. My element: in case you pick to assign seating, imagine very heavily about what can move incorrect because Murphy's regulation continuously applies to weddings.

Pros
- you have control over where the students sit and who they can talk to
- it can help you memorize their names
Cons
- it can keep some students from opening up, because they may not feel comfortable with the people you've placed them with
- it's unnecessary, the kids can choose themselves
- it can cause resentment towards the teacher
Uhhm, that's all I can think of. Hope it helped!
Good Luck :)
