Help locating high pitched squeal?
There's a high-pitched squeal coming from somewhere in my kitchen. It started soft last night, this morning is quite loud. Otherwise, it's a constant pitch and volume. It sounds electrical, but I turned off all the breakers in the house and the sound didn't stop. It's definitely coming from inside the house, not outside. I've put in a call to my electrician anyway, but in the meantime I thought I'd ask here. Help, it's driving me batty!
Never mind! We found the culprit - it was an electronic meat thermometer hiding in a drawer in the kitchen. Why it was squealing so loud is beyond me.

Have you checked for water leaks? You might not find a puddle, but something can be leaking into a drain.
Funny story: When I was a boy I was dared to go into this haunted house. I didn't believe in ghosts so I went in. No problem. However, I had to use the bathroom, so I sat down. As I sat there I heard this blood curdling scream coming from through the wall behind me. That scream didn't just remain distant, it came upon the back of my neck and scared the poop out of me. However, I quickly realized it was just the water valve in the toilet slowly opening, causing the high pitched "scream" noise you seem to be hearing. Is there a bathroom on the opposite side of the wall from the kitchen? It could just be a noisy valve.
Really.
Good luck.

OK, never mind in deed. The battery probably was low.
