Retaking the ACT, aiming for a 31?

When I first took the ACT I scored a 26 composite. I recently took it again and got a 28, but I didn't really study this time around. In fact, the math portion was a lower score than the first time. If I studied for real this time and took it again, do you think I could get a 31 composite score?

I need a 31 to qualify for the full-ride scholarship I want at the University I'm going to. It pays for all tuition, fees, books, room and board...

if the 31 gets you a full ride, then it is well worth investing in a private tutor to make sure you get there

You're going to have to first take a step back and breath. Some of it is up to luck, especially if you're including the writing portion.

If you worked on your weakest areas of study, then yes, you could feasibly obtain a 31 ACT score. From my experience, it's often less about studying, and more about taking the actual test. I can't know what kind of test-taker you are, but along with any amount of studying you do, be sure you're taking practice tests and questions to see if your skill is up to the grade.

Take all of this, and do the best you can do. Good-luck!
